Hostway Introduces Turnkey Cloud Solution for Smaller Resellers

Joint Hostway/Parallels Solution Delivers Private-Labeled, Fully Managed Cloud to VARs, MSPs and Integrators

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cloud hosting provider Hostway Corporation today announced a hosted IaaS program that enables smaller resellers to sell, provision, bill and manage their own private-labeled cloud compute with no internal infrastructure, easy web store development, and nominal upfront costs. Companies retain full control over branding, pricing and the customer experience from onboarding through support.

The new reseller platform integrates Hostway's FlexCloud Servers™ public cloud hosting service with Hostway-hosted Parallels Automation software for delivering and managing cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service. The program is open to any reseller inside or outside the Parallels ecosystem, allowing small and mid-sized VARs, MSPs and consultancies to participate with no investment except SSL certificate and domain registration.

The package includes a brandable reseller storefront – provided through the Parallels Automation interface – for self-serve provisioning of compute, memory and storage. Other benefits include on-demand scalability and pay-as-you-go wholesale rates provided by the FlexCloud Servers platform, fully customizable retail pricing, managed as well as self-serve provisioning options, and a tiered discount structure that increases resellers' discount as sales rise. Resellers can seamlessly bundle their software applications, professional services or managed service offerings with the cloud solution.

The new platform – announced at the Parallels Summit 2014 that opened yesterday in New Orleans – expands a syndicated Hostway/Parallels public cloud reseller program introduced last year for larger service providers who have deployed Parallels Automation software in-house.

"Until now, local resellers and consultants who wanted to move customers to the cloud typically have had to turn them up on one of the large public cloud providers. That meant they could not easily brand their solutions, were unable to completely integrate their own applications or other services, and lost critical monthly recurring revenue opportunities as well as the tight customer relationship," said Todd Benjamin, Hostway Vice President of Hosted Services. "Our new hosted reseller platform solves these problems, allowing our partners to sell branded IaaS cloud solutions using our FlexCloud Servers as the back end."

With these capabilities:

  • VARs can easily resell subscription-based cloud IaaS services under their own brand without building infrastructure or handing customers off to third-party providers who will invoice those customers directly. All operations functions are accessible from the Parallels reseller control panel, including sales quota setup and tracking.
  • SaaS providers can quickly spin up a new cloud instance for every new client and add their own application stack on top of Hostway's cloud infrastructure. The Parallels software enables bundled pricing and billing as well as monitoring of all aspects of customer usage.
  • MSPs can easily integrate and automate provisioning of cloud services to complement their managed offers and generate new revenue streams, supporting their efforts to compete with cloud service providers without requiring any capital investment.

"Pairing our Parallels Automation platform with Hostway's FlexCloud Servers and delivering it on a hosted basis extends the benefits to resellers who aren't yet ready or large enough to install their own instance of our cloud delivery platform," said John Zanni, Chief Marketing Officer, Parallels. "With a true turnkey package and no barrier to entry, this solution will open up the cloud IaaS market to many more resellers and help them transition to a monthly recurring revenue model that increases their margins as well as their business opportunities."

Initially, the new platform will enable resellers to market public-cloud IaaS services using Hostway's FlexCloud Servers hosting service. Future additions will include the Open-Xchange App Suite for unified email and collaboration, domain name registration and general website hosting.

Hostway is demoing its hosted reseller platform at Booth #613 at the Parallels Summit, and will run through its finer points at 2:30 p.m. today in the Summit's "Your IaaS, Your Choice" breakout session.
